Mastering the Art of Inspection

default-16x9

The Adult Learning Inspectorate (ALI) and the University of Warwick are offering the world’s first MA qualification in Inspection and Evaluation.

For the first time, inspectors from all areas of work will be able to achieve a qualification in quality assessment and improvement.

The first group of inspectors have now completed their induction and a second group are now being recruited onto the three year course.

David Sherlock, Chief Inspector of Adult Learning said: “Inspectors have to work in challenging environments and be ready to adapt to changes in inspection methods. There has never been any sort of qualification which meets their very specific needs and this innovative course will be a very useful tool in refining inspector skills. I feel proud that this course is a world leader, particularly as it stems from a conversation the University’s vice chancellor and I had over a cup of tea some years ago!”

Inspector Nigel Bragg said: “It’s a great opportunity to reflect on the ‘how’ and ‘why’ of the job. I’m particularly looking forward to the opportunity of studying a wide range of inspection-related topics and applying the newly acquired knowledge in the workplace.”
