I need to find a good trainer/training company who would run a course to equip HR staff in Mediation Skills (eg: running interference between managers and employees on serious disputes etc).
Ideally I am looking for a course which can provide some form of formal accreditation at the end of it, or which could be delivered in a couple of modules, with accreditation at the end. Has anyone run anything of this sort before, and if so, can you recommend a particular provider?

I’ve no idea what scale of course you’re looking to run, but it might be worth having a word with Barbara Madonik, author of “I hear what you say,but what are you telling me?” (Jossey-Bass, 2001) – a trainer and consultant in communication and mediation procedures and techniques. She has already run several courses in Europe and I know she was looking to work with clients in the UK.

I did my mediation training with a company called PMR. An excellent and practical course. I believe they do shorter versions too.

Have you considered ACAS ? Their literature is always clear and practical, I often recommend it to my HR Managers .
