    What an interesting question – I’m sorry you didn’t get any responses.

    Could you perhaps be a little more explicit? I mean, are you aiming to build a company knowledge base, for example?

    If so I’d strongly recommend this book:

    The Knowledge Management Fieldbook by Wendi R. Bukowitz & Ruth L. Williams

    as a well-written and pretty comprehensive introduction to the subject with plenty of practical advice, checklists, etc.
