Mission Statement for Global Training Department

default-16x9

Our Company has a mission statement but I have been asked to create one for our Global Training Department. Details via a web search are vast. Does anyone have any ideas of how best to go about this?

  1. vision and mission
In companies where I have worked, we have defined VISION as a statement of the situation that will exist, once the MISSION has been achieved. So VISION is a picture of the end goal – MISSION is how you will get there. (Sorry if you already knew that!)

The most effective mission statements have the involvement of all relevant parties in it’s creation – so that they feel engaged and aligned to it…..not sure how you achive this for a global mission statement! The end result is infinately better in my experience when more people are involved in it’s creation. I’d run facilitative creative sessions to explore areas such as where you’d like to be in 10 yrs time, key milestones, redefining values etc and then draw together the inputs into the global V&M.

Also – The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, by Stephen Covey – offers great insight into mission statement creation in Habit 2 – Begin with the end in mind.

I hope this helps, and provides a little direction!

  2. Mission Statement
Our Mission is to support the delivery of the organisations Strategic Business Goals through the development of our people – what more do you need ?

If you want more information, do please feel free to call me on 07702433284 and I should be able to help as it seems an easy fix.
    Kind regards
    Wayne
