new in post as a training manager & handling as one of several areas for action.

Anyone got any packages / approches for whole staff groups?
Is there a standard approach for hospital staff?

I work within a small 100 bedded private hospital.

Can recommend DR Training & Development for H&S issues and training.

Dennis Rafferty is who you need to contact on 0191 2572661 or mobile 07976 987766

If you decide to give him a ring just mention my name – I might get some discount the next time I use him!

  2. people handling & lifting
Hi The type of provider you will require will depend on your policies. Do you have a no patient lift policy?

Many hospitals do not allow lifting, so cannot train these techniques. generally most hostitals use pat slides and hoists and use the suppliers to undertake the train the trainer. Lifting people is difficult and high risk.

The Red Cross train healthcare professsionals in patient handling techniques, give them a try.
