networking for trainers?

default-16x9

can anyone point me in the direction of any useful groups / societies where you can regularly meet up with fellow training consultants / developers to network - in the London area?

  1. Good question
Great question, I was just about to ask it myself. I contacted my local CIPD branch but they have so far failed to get in touch and show any interest.

I am interested to see what people will say to your question.

    Regards,

  2. Why not start one?
Why not start a group/organisation? It would be great to have something which is industry, institute and vendor neutral.

  3. good idea
i was wondering if one was running in London. Would it have any sort of agenda or just see who turned up?

  4. network for isolated home based consultants
We have almost set up a networking group for home based consultants and trainers but never quite managed it. I would be interested in discussing the potential with a few others. Let me know if you are interested.

  5. What is the objective…?
    Hi Martyn,

Can I be deliberately provocative and ask what is your objective of networking with other trainers?

Mark Starling posted an interesting question last week, on the debate of whether we are losing our own competitive advantage by sharing with each other, (see https://www.trainingzone.co.uk/cgi-bin/item.cgi?id=111157&d=101&h=0&f=0&dateformat=%o%20%B%20%Y) and I must admit to being interested in the outcome of this post and yours.

I’ve been to some networking events in the past where its been attended by lots of sales people trying to sell to one another and whilst I’m always on the lookout for new ideas myself and part of me would welcome the opportunity to meeting with other trainers / consultants, I’d like us all to be clear why we’re doing it and what the benefit is!!

    Kind regards,

  6. Let me introduce you to …
    Dear All,

I am not a salesman and I am not a SPAM merchant but I will earn a few points from a very useful web site community that I am a member of if I introduce you.

Please write to me off list so that I can then introduce you to something that could be exactly what you are looking for. If not, you needn’t sign up.

Moreover, you can stay as a free of charge member or pay a small annual amount like I did (around £27 per year).

If this message fails to respect the spirit of TrainingZONE please accept my apologies. And if anyone thinks my action is inappropriate I will suffer the punishment meted out.

Can’t say fairer than that can I?
