CompTIA released the objectives for the Networking+ certification January 31st, however delegates can still apply for the old certification until March 14th. After this date the old certification will no longer be available.
So what’s the difference?
The new examination retains much of the old content however the main difference is between the objectives groups. The old exam is divided into two objectives where as the new exam is divided into four.
The old exam was focused towards beginner-level professionals with 18-24 months of experience working in IT. The new exam however, is geared towards delegates with nine months of experience in a network-specific capacity.
The exam is made up of 72 questions and is scored on a scale of 100 to 900, with the minimum passing score of 646. The exam can be taken either at VUE or Prometric testing centres worldwide.
