New Qualified teacher statuts

default-16x9

As the new Qualified teacher learning & skills standards are due to be in force this September I have been trying to find out what the effect they will have on me and my organisation. We run accredited and non accredited courses for the voluntary sector and though it seems clear for teachers in schools and FE collges I am slightly confused about whether we will be affected in the voluntary sector (as there are cost implications for gaining the new quals) Can anyone help?

Lynn I believe I have sent a reply to your other thread which will help answer this one. Incidently we are in a similar boat, in that we are neither school teachers or FE teachers. We also don’t come under the LSC area so maybe can’t get access to grants etc. If I interperet it correctly QTLS doesn’t actually apply to us, however we work in the 14 – 19 age area and proffesionally we should engage with it and I think we will be made to eventually anyway. Please email or call 01623 827654 and I will try to answer any other questions. I could also email you a link for a conference coming up regarding this subject.
