An article in the current issue of People Management suggests that skills development will be a key focus of the new Scottish Parliament:-

"There are high hopes that the new Scottish Parliament will meet the challenge of skills shortages head-on.

Gus Macdonald, minister for business and industry at the Scottish Office, has called on personnel professionals to prepare for devolution and to increase their involvement with the new Scottish Executive when it is elected in May."
