November’s theme on TrainingZONE: Training software

default-16x9

As a training professional in the year 2003, it's almost impossible not to be affected by the impact of training software in one form or another. With such a broad focus, we'll be looking at a range of subjects under this topic:

  • Training management software: From Excel spreadsheets to Learning Management Systems, what works for your organisation?
  • Electronic support for the trainer: Virtual whiteboards, online workshops, authoring tools and PowerPoint presentations - indispensable or missing the point?
  • Course content - with so many different areas of work-based training now available for delivery through e-learning or 'blended learning' methods, which formats and subject areas are proving most successful?
  • Looking at the bigger picture - data protection, avoiding the onslaught from cyber-attack, justifying hardware and software costs - and introducing technology to new users.
  • There will also be an opportunity to showcase particular training software products in line with our newly-established reviews programme -the results of the first series of reviews in the programme will be published this month.

    Editorial Guidelines

Overall content: Our editorial policy is not to use material directly promoting an organisation's goods and services. Instead, we publish original contributed features containing specific viewpoints on training-related subjects, advice guides and opinion pieces commenting on customer experiences or experiences of the training market itself.

    Length of piece: 300-1000 words

Format: People tend to scan read on the internet - it is a habit we are all developing in response to the massive amount of information available. So it's good to alert readers quickly to what you are going to put before them, by using headings through a long piece, and splitting the text into relatively short paragraphs.

Inclusion of links: We will include a link to contributors' nominated sites and/or e-mail contact address, so that members can access further information about the author if they wish to do so.
