NVQs – idiot’s guide

default-16x9

I am interested because I work in the Financial Services industry that has just been affected by new Financial Services Authority regulations that require all registered firms to assess the competence of their staff. I don't know a great deal about NVQs but I wondered whether we might be able to learn from the NVQ assessment process. Any views or references would be gratefully received.

  1. Good reference source for NVQs
    Hello Richard,

I would recomend “The NVQ and GNVQ Assessor Handbook” Published by Kogan Page (Ros Ollin and Jenny Tucker). This gives good background and I recommend it to all the assessors (D32 and D33) and internal verifiers (D34)we put through these awards. Getting these awards is very straightforward if the provision is done by experienced staff and this text really supports our candidates.
    Good luck,
    Geoff
