NVQs/SVQs and competency markers into the New Millennium

The Institute of Science Technology is pleased to announce our Annual Meeting. The theme this year is "NVQ/SVQs and competency markers into the New Millennium". The meeting will be held at Stowe House in Lichfield, Staffs. on Thursday 13th and Friday 14th April 2000.

Three speakers have agreed to contribute on Thursday.

James Holyfield, Vocational Qualifications in Science, Engineering and Technology.

Bill McNichol, Science, Technology and Mathematics Council.

Prof. Simon Roodhouse, University Vocational Awards Council.

The Friday will be given to Open Space Technology, allowing delegates to set their own agenda.

Prof. Nancy Rothwell has agreed to present the Millennium Lecture titled "Killers in the Brain".

The meeting will provide an opportunity for delegates from Awarding Bodies, NTOs, Industry and Higher, Further and Secondary Education to network.

Assessors, Internal Verifiers and Candidates will gain from attending. Personnel from the IST will be available throughout the meeting to give advice, support or facilitate troubleshooting sessions. We will be available to give advice and guidance to VQSET registered centres or those considering registration.

Costs for the two-day meeting are £170.00 for IST members (£190.00 for non-members). This will include meeting notes, one night accommodation, lunches, refreshments and meeting dinner. Delegate day rate is available.
