Online savings bank ING Direct has become the latest company to sign up for the Home Computer Initiative.

The bank is rolling out Futuremedia’s Learning For All on-line learning programme with an internal marketing campaign and a series of road shows.

The HCI scheme gives employees access to a computer at home at a subsidised rate.

Jennie Monon, HR director at ING Direct said she hoped the scheme would improve staff recruitment and retention.

“The scheme is recognised as a genuine benefit for staff and their families and will also enable employees to develop transferable skills to contribute towards their success in a growing company,” she added.

“We are keen to provide a range of additional learning opportunities for our employees and this scheme is an important part of our on going programme.”
