ROLL UP FOR WORLD CLASS TECHNO FAIR
FORWARD thinking business leaders can meet the world’s experts in the latest training technology this summer when the Gloucestershire Business School in Cheltenham plays host to one of the largest on-line learning conferences in the world.
On-line Learning Euro 99 is taking place from 20-22 July at Cheltenham & Gloucester College of Higher Education. Speakers and delegates are attending from the USA, Europe, the Far East and Australia, as well as all over the UK.
"The Internet is set to become the most popular training delivery method after the classroom, because it allows large numbers of people to be trained for a relatively low cost", said conference manager, Kevin Walter.
"Already companies like British Aerospace, Hewlett Packard and the Royal Bank of Scotland are using Intranets as part of their staff training package. And the opportunities are there for all businesses, whatever their size or product, to tap into online learning.
"What the conference will offer delegates is the opportunity to meet the experts, try some of the packages and find out about developing learning materials for their own companies and staff, as well as listening to international guest speakers at the forefront of new technology."
The three-day event is being sponsored by Asymetrix, world leaders in electronic learning systems, and the Keynote Speaker on day one is Professor John Williams of MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) in Boston, USA.
Professor Williams has developed a comprehensive programme of online learning within MIT and will be sharing ideas and expertise with delegates at the conference. MIT is the top university in the world in technology sciences, globally famous for its contribution to technological progress.
During the first two days of the conference there will be practical, informative and ‘hands on’ workshops on specific software training products. Days two and three will cover topics like video-conferencing, project management, courseware and multimedia development.
