IN ANSWER TO YOUR REQUEST
I have been employed within the training and development field full time for the last 6 years. Working predominatly on outdoor based experiential learning programmes. I am authorised as a facilitator on low ropes courses and am also H & S qualified to a national standard. I carried out my facilitator training at Brathy in Cumbria and have deliverid some 150 courses involving in excess of 1000 clients. My chief concern as an experienced facilitator is the learning experience of the participants and how can they best translate the powerful effect of learning by doing back into the work place. Has there been a more enduring model than Kolb and the subsequent work done by Honey & Mumford? A more recent one has been what I can best describe as the model of ‘How people don’t learn from their experiences’ because they are too busy firefighting and looking for scapegoats. Ive run out of space…..but not reactions to what you appear to be saying.
