peer support / mutual mentoring

default-16x9

I am responsible for running a network for volunteers managers. Events that we run go well, but how can we promote peer support and networking out of these? Are there any models for one-to-one mentoring between equals? Co-coaching? What training would participants need? Practical ideas which are fairly easy to set up would be ideal.

  2. Try Action Learning
How about setting up the volunteers as an Action Learning Group, so that training and coaching can be specifically tailored to their personal and group needs?

  3. Its tricky but possible
within organisation peer mentoring can be tricky because of potential competitiveness. How about encouraging people to build on existing relationships, make them slightly more formalised. Most people do have confidants. It is possible to train people to take up this slightly more structured role. I do do peer mentoring myself (and benefit from it) Happy to discuss. 01454 299236
