We are a small new media company and we would like to invest in personnel software, which would allow us to maintain, retrieve and update information in one place. The software will be in a database format, and have such databases as Personal records, holidays, diaries, absence, sick leave, appraisal and much more.

There are loads of systems suitable for small organisations that will probably do what you need. My only hesitation in suggesting some to evaluate is your final “much more”! Also, do you want to integrate with payroll?
You should start by looking closely at what you really need and what are the key benefits a system will give to the company, to the HR function and to the people.
