Presentation Skills – Video Wanted

default-16x9

I am currently writing a 2 day presentation skills course, and would ideally like to use a video that shows various clippings of good and bad presentations. Has anyone got any recommendations ?. or if not any possible alternatives.

Many thanks

  1. Presentation Videos
I have dealt with all the main companies and all their stuff is pretty crap. I know what you want, a list of clips that can be critiqued. I always wanted such a thing but the only way I could think of was to build a tape from the television. Therefore giving you control over the learning points and what you want to pull out. Unfortunately, being human, I never got round to it and now after 7 years developing courses and materials for the subject I still don’t have it.

If you find anything I’d love to see it.

It is a good idea though. Perhpas you can compensate through the involvement of everyone and the way you set up the feedback on the second day, if that is the direction you are going.

If 8 people make a presentation they should get almost as much from the others as they get (in terms of learning) from their own.

If you want to talk about it anytime, drop me a line and sorry about the video. Good idea.

  2. Presentation Skills Video – there is another way!
I agree with Graeme on this one, I couldn’t find anything suitable either. As a result early on into my 2-day programmes I got participants in syndicate groups to create their own skit for a training video. This could include examples of both bad and good presentation styles. This resulted in a lighthearted & energetic way of getting across some pretty interesting learning points – all the more powerful because the participants were creating it. It was just a shame I never videoed some of these skits myself – could’ve earned a nice bit of pocket money!!
