    Hi there

    I used to be the Director of L&D for the Chartered Instutute of Purchasing and Supply and have worked with lots of organisations to help with this. Without knowing the size and scope of the team you’re looking to develop it’s difficult to be specific but here are some starters of the basics you’d expect to see:

    • Developing and managing contracts
    • Legal
    • Supplier Relationship Management
    • Negotiation skills
    • Sourcing
    • Risk Management
    • Working with/managing relationships with clients/stakeholders
    • Costing/Finance
    • Managing purchasing process/ops
    • Supply Chain Management
    • Softer skills/behaviours: communication and influencing/relationships/project management

    There are some good training needs analysis tools on the market which could help you pin point what you need further. Let me know if you would like more information and I could point you in the direction of some help.
