Prosell launches new “Induction in a Box”

Prosell, the London based training company, is using technology provided by knowledge=power, the e-learning solutions company, to provide ‘Induction in a Box’, a customisable e-learning induction package.

The new package, which can be delivered by CD-ROM or Internet, is designed as a complement rather than a replacement to a company’s existing induction training. It does not aim to replace the important impact of face-to-face communication, an essential part of welcoming someone to an organisation. Instead, it provides a permanent, professional resource to reinforce key messages given during induction training. To cater for the inevitable changes in personnel, company strategies and documentation, the standard ‘Induction in a Box’ package includes quarterly updates of some or all of the information in the course.

“The idea behind ‘Induction in a Box’,” says Simon Morden, Director of Prosell, “is to cut down on the amount of time a new starter has to spend on background material. Inductees can now access resources and reinforcement of what they have already learned, at a time and place that suits them. The flexibility of access will assist new entrants in gaining an understanding of organisational strategies and working methodologies when they need it, in their first few weeks and even beyond that initial period.”

To deliver ‘Induction in a Box’ Prosell are using knowledge=power’s alto™ e-learning platform. alto™ was developed to enable clients to create and publish their own e-learning content quickly and easily.

The content of the induction course is housed in a virtual reality building, known as a Learning World™. The building comprises a Games Room, Classroom, Exam Room, Library and Communications Room. Results from the Exam Room are sent to nominated managers so that the progress of the inductee can be tracked and further training or coaching can be implemented where needed.
