Public service training website for real?

Is anyone familiar with Our employees keep getting emails from this site offering them "free" training. In this tight budget year, some are tempted to use it to enhance their training needs. We are worried the site is actually a for-profit site that will charge tjem once they get their credit card info, or a scam, or spam that will steal their identity or all of the above. If there is such thing as "free" training for public employees, I would love to know more about it! Help!

  1. Is there such a thing as FREE training?

    Hi Lauren

Just clicked on the link you provided, the site appears to be US based, however, as they provide no contact address, just a telephone number I would be very wary.  I have included a couple of UK Government/charity based web addresses that may help with funding:  . . . . .

When I worked in the Public Sector, I found that the only free training was either at a low skills level or targeted at a specific minority group.

    Hope this helps

    Hi Lauren,

This organisation is based in the US and from what I can tell, only US-based people will actually get the free training.

What is more concerning is that there is no postal address given, and when you ‘Google’ this organisation, there is simply nothing else referring, relating or linking to them, at least, not from genuine public sector organisations in the US.

This may be a legitimate operation but my ‘spider senses’ tell me to stay well away from them.
