QA of External Consultants

default-16x9

We would like to start carrying out QA visits to some of the external consultants delivering training courses for us. I was wondering if anyone could provide some guidance as to the sort of issues we should be reviewing. I would like to have a standard format that we could apply to every course.

  1. Single standard for QA of trainers?
    Hi Allison,
this is going to be an interesting one – There are many frameworks available upon which to measure – but before I list some of them, what was the criteria the trainers were selected upon? was it identical for each? Are their styles the same? are they accelerated learning trainers, facilitators, chalk & talk? are you talking about ALL training topics or a single area like IT, management skills, soft skills, customer service etc.

Unfortunately the chances are they all do diff. things in a unique style – therefore I would suggest that the only way to ‘QA’ them is to check that they are :
    1) delivering to contract
    2) meeting objectives

in other words appraise them against the criteria they were hired against.

For the recruitment of new trainers by all means set a standard – but then the ‘standard’ may well be diff. for technical -v-soft skills as style becomes an important factor in success.

So to summarise the types of things I would expect my clients to measure:
    1) am I delivering the material they expected?
    2) am I achieving the learning objectives
    3) am I flexible as a supplier in the context of the agreement

The rest is down to the engagement

I look forward to hearing the views of others.
