Quality Assurance Exercise

default-16x9

I am looking for a training exercise, preferable for a team/group of people, that will highlight the importance of quality assurance, particularly in the service industry. I have heard of an exercise called "The Plate Factory" which I think is about getting the group working together to produce a quality product. Am open to suggestions/ideas - anything to get people thinking about the importance of quality, impact etc. .

  1. Ideas on quality
    Hi Adele
One thing I have used is pick a case study (story of a company that ended up with issues – Brent Spar problems, Millennium Dome, Wembley Stadium etc) and provide a detailed outline of the story (from the web). Give one to each group and ask them to identify what went wrong, why, what were the impacts, how could it have been changed. This will usually drive out issues that will relate back to quality in a wider scope – i.e. quality of communication, quality of product, quality of processes and checking, quality of training, quality of objectives/understanding etc. This should get them thinking that quality is not just a small compact area but impacts on everything.
