Raising Team Profile

default-16x9

I am currently working with a team whose single largest challenge is to raise their profile and reputation within an organisation which holds them in quite poor regard.

They are a truly first class team in many respects but struggle to get this message across.

Any thoughts on how to help them acheive this would be very welcolm.

  1. maybe its confidence
    Hi,
It sounds to me like you need to get to the root of this problem…why the team is not held in high regard by other employees. Do they have a bad track record integration, bad relations etc?
Alternatively have the team got the confidence and self asteem to give out the right signals i.e. they are worthy of being held in high regard?
    Hope this helps

Yes, find out why – it may be historical of course. You may be in a position to find out from the people who disparage them, what it is that’s not working, getting them to be specific. There may be some things that need putting right, that aren’t immediately obvious to the team.

Then encourage networking, meetings with people whose work affects them or vice versa. Get little groups together to deal with current issues. Have “croissants and coffee and ten minutes in the morning” events (only things that are likely to be popular- you’ll know what’s feasible)
Encourage them to volunteer for things.

Work though some “internal customer” issues, even with role-plays, once you know of any specific gripes. Notice how they answer the phone and communicate generally and improve that, even if it’s already good
