Recognised accreditation/qualification

I have been a full time trainer for almost 1 year and now feel it is a good time to reinforce my current knowledge as well as add to my existing skill set.
Ideally the course/accreditation/qualification should be recognised worldwide and should also enable the company to advertise the fact that their trainer has been trained to "a standard".
So far TAP is the one that is looking the best option, however I am unsure.

Many thanks

Richard Smith

  1. CIPD
As a Head of HR/HR Director I would be looking for someone with CIPD if I was recruiting for my Training Dept.

  2. An alternative to CIPD
I’d second Sandra’s suggestion. Although ITOL have never marketed their qualifications as aggressively as the CIPD, they are focused purely on the learning and development professional’s requirements and have updated their whole qualification content since their recent link with The Learning Sanctuary.

  3. Recognised Accreditation/Qualification
It is excellent to hear that you feel you have progressed as a full time trainer and are actively seeking to develop further.
There are a number of trainer facilitation courses available, few recognised to a national standard.
I completed my “train the trainer “ course in 2001 with Matrix Forty Two , and found it has now evolved and is now recognised as the Excellent Learning Facilitation Programme (ELF) It has 3 levels, the first of which is recognised by OCR at Level 3 equivalence on the National Qualifications Framework. It is also one of a few to be endorsed by the British Computer Society (BCS) against their ACTT qualification which is the equivalent to level 4 on the National Qualifications Framework.
It is a highly interactive and collaborative way to develop training skills, using the unique methodology of “Structured Pragmativity” – a structured blend of creativity and pragmatism ” . I hope this helps to show that there are cost effective alternatives and more choice available than you might think.
