  1. For what?
I think we’ll need a bit more info in order to be able to help out here.

What do you want to learn by e-learning? Is it a standard course/qualification or something highly specialist…

  2. Certificated e-Learning Development Skills
Thanks for getting back to me.

Looking for a certificated e-Learning Development skills course. Specialising in designing courseware, how to develop and convert exisiting training skills into a format appropriate for e-learning, creating the right blend etc

  3. TAP Certificate in e-Learning Development Skills
    Dear Sarah

It sounds like you would benefit from the two day course which leads to the award of the TAP Foundation Certificate in Blended Learning. An outline can be downloaded from:

    http://www.tap-training.com/docs/2007qp-p30-fcbl.pdf

You could also consider the five day classroom course which leads to the award of the TAP Certificate in e-Learning Development Skills. You can download an outline in Adobe Acrobat format from:

    http://www.tap-training.com/docs/2007qp-p34-e-learningds.pdf

    Further information from:

  4. Design or Develop?

If you are looking for an Instructional Design course then you might want to try reading Michael Allen, but unfortunately you would need to travel to the USA at the moment to benefit from one of his courses. His books support the ASTD learning design certificate programme.

He will advise that you bury much of what ‘traditional’ e-learning ID courses teach, but if you read his books first and like the approach (which is common sense) you might save yourself some money by avoiding some of the dross that is out there.

If its course development training that you need, take a look at http://www.suddenlysmart.com I will declare my interest in recommending this as we are a UK reseller!!, but you will be glad that you have looked at the product, i promise you!
