It has to be one of the supreme ironies of NLP that very few books written on the subject are visual, given that one of the basic premises of the 'success science' is that 60% of people process their thinking in a visual way.
However, one recently published book – 'The Really Good Fun Cartoon Book of NLP' - not only does what it says on the tin, it also simplifies what can quite often become quite a heavy subject with lots of technical expressions.
It's not the kind of book that I'd usually grab off the bookshelves – but I suspect that I'm in the minority, judging by how well so many other 'quick read' self-help and business books fare in the various 'top 10' lists around the world.
My partner Paul had a similar reaction when he first picked it up. But then to be fair, he couldn't put it back down again! I guess this is because the book so easily conveys what can sometimes be a complicated message – with the result that you're hooked into finding out more.
There's lots of great information packed into what feels like a fairly lightweight book, and if you're into getting your learning in bite-sized chunks, then you'll love it.
Of course, if you're serious about the science of NLP, you might be tempted to dismiss the format – but make no mistake, leave it lying around and you'll soon find lots of people picking it up, having a quick browse and subsequently coming out with some NLP truisms.
One to give both new (and indeed jaded) employees who are looking to fast-track their foray into the exciting world of personal development.
Absolutely!
