Sales Training

Where would be the best place to go to find a boxed course (takeaway course) for Sales Training. I am looking for a basis/intermediate course that we can train in ourselves.

You can find a basic selling course, based on the 6 steps to selling, on http://www.abctrainingsolutions.biz. The powerpoint presentation is in the free trainer resources section. Its based on selling electronic products but the principles are similar to almost any type of selling. Feel free to amend to your needs.

Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend this approach to sales training. You’d be better off getting boxed courses on listening skills, questioning skills and product knowledge.

The key to selling can be broken down into – call opening (how do you want your people to come across), questioning and listening (determining need and whether you can provide the solution), closing (so many kinds of close available – but which do you want to reflect your business professionally?), knowledge (how well do your people know not only your product but all the alternatives out there and can they compare them and highlight the strengths of your product)and finally attitude – learning to fake positive mental attitude takes time (and don’t kid yourselves it’s almost always faked – no sales person is ever happy 24/7 without the use of chemicals!)

You’d be better off attending a good sales training course yourself – something like the SPIN sales course and adapting it for use with your delegates.

Sales is an art form, people really underestimate what it takes to be good at it. If sales is a key issue for you, invest some time and effort into it.

Buy books on the subject, read extensively and go out and let people sell to you a bit and analyse what you like about their styles etc.

Sorry I know this doesn’t answer the original question but I feel strongly that an off the shelf approach will probably not help your people.
