The Working Families 'Best Boss' competition 2007 is looking for Britain's most outstanding manager.

Working Families and American Express are looking for nominations for bosses who make a difference to people's working lives. According to the competition organisers, judges are looking for candidates who:

  • Celebrate and share successes with their team.

  • Empower and inspire people to achieve their goals.

  • Encourage a flexible culture by promoting work-life balance.

  • Trust their team by delegating and expecting the best.

Sarah Jackson, chief Executive of Working Families, said: "Britain's Best Boss competition is a great opportunity for bosses to represent their organisation and prove that they are the greatest boss in the UK.

"As bosses will be competing from across the UK, employees also have the chance to provide a boost, not only for their boss, but for their part of the country as well."

The winner and nominee can expect a lunch at the House of Lords in March, together with a prize of £1,000 for the boss and their team, and a further prize for the person who makes the winning nomination.

The deadline for nominations is Friday 7 December 2007.
