Seeking Icebreakers Energisers for Retail Group

default-16x9

Does anyone have any ideas for icebreakers and energisers which could be used with a group of unemployed people starting a Retail Skills Course? I can find many general exercises, however I wanted something which was particularly relevant to the Retail Sector.

  1. the bingo card icebreaker
how about using the well known format of teh bingo card icebreaker, but change your bingo cards to include retail specific items as well as the usual personal items such as speaking another language, visited a specific country etc.
this is always great for getting everyone talking to each other straight away, and is guaranteed to get fun when you end up with the group collaberativly cheating to finish the game. offering a fun prize like a bag of sweets to the first person to complete their card is always a good icebreaker as well.

    cheers

  2. speed dating
use a speed dating format – 1minute then move on. participants find out best and worst retail experience from as many others as possible in time available. Flip chart goodies and baddies – this then leads you into your session. Good luck Iain

  3. Ice breaker
    Hi Janice
Give the 15 minutes to collect data from each other. Each person has to be reponsible for asking everyone else one of these questions: their best retail experiences, their worst retail experiences, how they feel about being on the course, the onething they would like to take away today, how motivated they currently feel on a scale of 1 to 10, etc etc. Give them 15 minutes to get their info, which will cause chaos as they get into trading info at a high speed. Ask them to chart their results and you have some useful material for the rest of the course.
