Self Awareness Training

default-16x9

We have an option of giving a sales rep a 360, but would also like to give the individual concerned some self awareness skills in a training environment. As I have nothing suitable running in-house in the near future, I am looking for some recommendations on an interpersonal skills type course that will also give the participant feedback on how other course members see them.

  1. Question
    Jenny,
    couple of questions to clarify:-
    1. What behaviours are you looking at developing with the individual?
    2. What has instigated this request to feedback to the individual on their behaviour?
    3. Is it only in a training/group environment this behaviour (you want to communicate to him/her) occurs?

Just wanted a clearer understanding of what type of workshop you are looking for i.e. Self-Perception, Impact on Others etc..

    many thanks

  2. Unrealistc self image
My understanding is that the individual concerned has an unrealistic self image and is also unaware of (insensitive to?) how sometimes his behaviour can impact on others.

  3. Leadership
I can most certainly recommend Paul Hunting at the Natural Leadership Centre. He has an unusual and extraordinarily impactful coaching process that I can say for certain, if it doesn’t give your sales guy honest feedback that he will accept then nothing will.

Why do I say this? Because Paul adds nothing in the process, the feedback isn’t coming from outside to be deflected or protected against, the client generates their own feedback using a very powerful mirror, which incidentally is not Paul but a more natural approach. Paul simply manages the process within which the client confronts and moves through the fears that hold them back.

There is no opinion or ego other than the client’s own, and they cannot get away from that.

I have taken a number of clients there and the results are always powreful, impactful, immediate and have a wide reaching effect on the person and their colleagues.

Another alternative, which is a slightly longer alternative at two days compared to Paul’s typical one day session, is Ascent, the adventure coaching experience. This is more about people discovering direction in their lives and in a situation like this gets people to commit fully to what they really want, see http://www.ascent-experience.com for details.

    Paul Hunting’s phone number is 01608 663916.
