Self-Confidence Questionnaires

default-16x9

Hi all.

I'm looking for the proverbial 'needle in a haystack'; the most effective assessment tool of a person's self confidence in the sea of self-help books and online resources.

I could end up with a list as long as my arm, but I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know:

  1. Most effective tool you've used?
  2. Most effective tool you've had recommended to you?

Regards,
Andrew

  1. I’m not being very helpful am I?

    Hi Andrew

Surely it is a matter of self confidence about your ability to do a particular thing…….eg I know many managers who brim with self confidence in their everyday ability to manage in their jobs but when they are sitting in a Presentation Skills Workshop waiting for their turn to give a ten minute presentation in front of a live audience and a video camera their "Bottle-o-metre" is registering a 99/100 on the "Fear Factor" and a 23/100 on the "Confidence Factor".

The best I’ve ever seen done is a (sadly passed away) colleague who used to draw a dashboard for each delegate and ask them to self assess the needle position for each presentation they gave as the course went by…..it was great to see the self assessment rise as the visible and audible signs of confidence increased.

  2. A bit more research

    has thrown up Imposter Syndrome.

I was looking for something specifically for a group of aspiring leaders to help them come to terms with their own self-doubts and personal mis-trust with their ability.

    I’ll keep looking.

  3. Challenges of Leadership

    Hi Andrew

I was recently reading ‘The 18 Challenges of Leadership’ by Trevor Waldock and Shenaz Kelly-Rawat and one of the challenges was ‘The Confidence Challenge’. It includes a self assessment, which you are looking for. I also found its thoughts and discussion around what constitutes true self confidence in line with some of my thinking around leadership and thought it would provide a good base for discussion and leadership development.

I could see this working for your group of aspiring leaders.

    Many thanks

    Rosanne
