Has anyone got any information or tried to evaluate the speed in which people aquire new skills particularly manual skills? I want to investigate how to determine who are quick learners from an existing workforce of 350, using more specifice criteria than peoples perception.

You can actively measure and document the amount to time it takes to learn a new task — is this what you are attempting? Or rather are you looking for methodology to select those most likely to succeed at a given new task?

I will also like to know the same for skills like selling skills. The purpose will be not only to identify the persons most likely to succeed, but also to suitably ammend training programmes to take care of slow learners
