Software Satisfaction Award 2007 Nominees Announced

default-16x9

The nominations for the UK's most comprehensive user-driven awards scheme for business software have been revealed.

Nearly 2,000 people cast their votes for the 2007 Software Satisfaction Awards, which cover products in 19 business software categories ranging from accounts and customer relationship management packages to payroll and learning management programs. The annual awards scheme is run in association with the Business Application Software Developers Association (BASDA) by Sift Media, which operates a portfolio of professional online communities including TrainingZone.co.uk, HR Zone.co.uk, Business Zone.co.uk, AccountingWEB, MyCustomer.com and FinanceWeek.co.uk.

Drawn from such a broad sample of UK businesses, the nominations reflect the diversity of systems on offer. Small, start-up companies such as Kashflow and specialists like e2Train have won equal billing with big international brands such as Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, Sage and Infor.

For the first time, the awards shine the spotlight on HR and learning management systems. Northgate, SAP and Vizual are in the running for the corporate HR software award, while in the highly competitive market for integrated HR and payroll systems, ASR and Midland will contest the category with the IRIS Business Suite from one of the UK's fastest-growing business software houses.

IRIS is also represented in the Learning Management Systems category, having merged this year with the CS Group, developer of the Consensus LMS. The LMS section also reflects the democratic nature of the awards, with Adobe's Creative Suite nominated alongside the Kallidus Learning Suite from Cirencester-based e2Train.

The Software Satisfaction Awards are based on the views of genuine users of business applications, not those of a judging panel. As a result, the awards are a valuable guide to any business considering its software options. The winners will be announced at a ceremony taking place on Tuesday 9 October at The Brewery in London, EC1 and the full results will be published in the 2007 Software Satisfaction Annual - sure to become an indispensable guide for business software buyers.

In addition to the business application awards, there is a prize for the software reseller of the year as well as BASDA's Theo van Dort prize, awarded to the person who has done the most to promote collaboration in the software industry.
