Stuck for an e-learning solution

default-16x9

I am in the process of evaluating various e-learning packages with a view to finding a tool that will allow us to self author e-learning modules.
We have decided that simulation of our bespoke software and capturing participation and scoring data is key; on top of the usual content creation capability.
We do not use an LMS and are looking for a package initially that will let us capture information into a database without buying into a full LMS.
One of the tools I tried performed very well apart from simulation which failed to capture our bespoke software.
Has anyone else been in this situation? Did you find a full solution in one package or did you mix and match with a separate content creation tool and separate simulation tool?
Any advice gratefully recieved!
Regards

  1. Mixed approach
Generally I find that using a combination of solutions provides varied and interesting learning as long as it all links into the same system/standards. We tend to use a mixture of flash (and RoboDemo) based simulations and our web based LCMS which allows self-authoring.
We have found that many companies do not want to commit to buying a full LMS/LCMS so we offer a per user licence off our servers.

I hope this helps a bit.

  2. A recommendation
There is a solution on the market which will enable you to create custom e-learning and also create simulations for systems training. Details are:

You’d need to speak to Andy Green. Hope this helps.

  3. Talk to Cleartick
Before you make any decisions I would strongly recommend you talk to Cleartick (www.cleartick.co.uk). Craig Worcester, one of their directors has a huge amount of experience in this field, and can advise you on the various tools available. His telephone number is 01434 381136.

  4. Thanks!
Thank you all for taking the time to give me your advice, I have started to follow these up and I hope to have a suitable solution soon
