‘Team’ Appraisal

I've been tasked to look for a model of team appraisal for managers with large groups of staff to supervise & for whom 1-1 appraisal is not feasible (I realise 'team' appraisal may be a contradiction!!) Any ideas/thoughts about how I might proceed or any literature you can point me too?
