Team-building Event

default-16x9

Due to re-organisation, two of our customer focus teams are being merged. They previously had the same role but were being led by different team leaders and had responsibility for different geographic locations. They will now be working under one Senior HR Business Partner and would like to run an event to help them become more united.

They would like to do something as a whole group - there are about 30 of them - which will help them plan for the future. They want to build on their current individual strengths and plan a strategy to go forward.

There has been a lot of uncertainty in the last few months due to re-organisation which has not been great for morale.

Has anyone got any ideas of games/activities or know of specialists for an event?

  1. Joining teams
Hi alka, consider using the Strength Deployment Inventory to help each person identify their strengths individually and as a team. They will then be able to fully appreciate the synergy of the new set up in terms of strengths. As a fantastic bonus, they will also have a great insight into the avoidance of conflict between themselves – individually and in their teams.

    Hi Alka,
This is a pretty common brief for us which we could help you address with specialised events and training and/or by using Myers Briggs, TMS measurement tools and Belbin amongst other things. Please give us a call and we can talk you through some of the possiblities – it costs nothing to talk!

  3. SDI
I would agree with Paul in using the SDI. A company which may be able to help you run this is Rainbow Training Solutions. The benefits of using SDI is that people can appreciate that subtle changes in language can have a huge effect on others. We have found it very useful in my organisation and it has been used successfully with our own team.

I think you can contact them at [email protected]

    Hope this may help you

  4. I should have mentioned
I suppose that I missed a triack here – I should have mentioned that I not only recommend the SDI to thers but practice what I preach by delivering training programmes based on the advatnages that the SDI offers in so many areas f interpersonal relationships. Please do feel free to call for a chat or e-mail to discuss any aspect of using the SDI. Advice is free!

  5. Referal for Teambuilding events
Hi – I have recently used a consultant I have known for some time to run an outdoor Team Building event. It was exceptionally well received (comments like “why couldn’t the rest of the induction course have been like this?”). He is very flexible, and we were only able to use a small set of the tools (Belbin, personality profiles etc) he has available.

Very highly recommeneded. If you’d like a contact, please email me at [email protected]

    Alka,

You may be interested in an exciting new suite of Beatles-themed motivational seminars and learning products that my company have developed that use the words and music of the Fab Four as a source and inspiration.

They examine the band’s broad universal appeal by using their words, music and individual character types to find the real secrets to their success. These are secrets that any one of us can employ to rock our own lives: how to set and meet personal goals, understanding one’s own talents and those of others, how to overcome challenges and how to keep ambition fresh and challenging.
