Managers are employed. So why are we at John Seymour Associates certain the attitude of the self-employed is the next step?

When people are self-employed they will act in the interests of themselves and others within the context of supporting their business.

Many of the market sectors we are working with, such as banking and telecom, seek these traits within their managers. As a result we have put together The Manager of the Future™ to aid the development of the necessary core skills (see modules) and characteristics.

The Manager of the Future™ is about helping to develop and enable managers of today and tomorrow for greater success in the future

The Manager of the Future™ is a series of three training modules that develop the abilities of a manager through developing key competencies. But this is not just about attaining more skills - it is also about developing the person that is learning the skills.

We show how managers can think differently about what they do as well as develop their competencies at doing it. This is:
The Manager of the Future™’

A manager of the future brings self-interest, together with the interests of their team and the business as a whole.

A more developed personal autonomy as a manager will raise awareness, pro-activity and greater professionalism.

Delivering... ‘The Manager of the Future™?

The modules are delivered in-house usually at your business premises, for up to 15 delegates per module. Our style is experiential skills-based training which allows for effective skills transfer back into the workplace.

The 3 modules overview:

Influencing Skills - 2 days

The ability to influence others is a critical success skill. Paradoxically, the most effective way of radically increasing your ability to influence others starts with yourself. Through experiential learning you will develop key influencing skills and support structures to ensure successful integration and dramatically improved results.

Managing Continuous Change – 2 days

One of the main limits to performance is the individual’s ability to manage the effects of continuous organisational change. Some people are ‘naturals’ at managing change, they thrive on it! What’s the difference? It is the set of key skills you will learn on this two-day experiential training.

Inspirational Leadership – 2 days

In times of accelerating change, effective leadership skills are essential. James Kouzes and Barry Posner carried out the most comprehensive research project on leadership, on 60,000 leaders. They unearthed the recurring patterns of success, and came up with five core practices common to all extraordinary leadership. On this programme you will learn each of these skills experientially.

These modules contain the essential content that allows the desired attitudes and skills to emerge.

All three of the two-day blocks can be run either simultaneously, or flexibly to suit the needs of your business. It is also possible to book one of the modules to experience our delivery style and see how it may fit with your organisation. Our ability to tailor the delivery process to your cultural and business system needs is what truly differentiates The Manager of the Future™ and enables John Seymour Associates to deliver real results.

The The Manager of the Future™ has a certificate for delegates on completion of all three modules accredited by John Seymour Associates.
