Top 10 instruments for training & OD

I was going through some of my training material and noticed that I use some instruments more than others.

Here is my top 10 purchasable instruments what are yours? (in no particular order)
1) SDI
2) Creatrix
3) 360's
4) LSQ (Honey & Mumford)
5) MBTI
6) BIR
7) LPI
8) Firo-B
9) Career Anchors
10) Belbin

    Yep, I’d agree with that lot, though the lack of validity of LSQ worries me. I’d add TMS which I find a lot more accessible for people than Belbin.

    Hi Peter, thanks for your comments

    As to the validity of the LSQ – if it is used as a development tool rather than an analysis tool it is about face validity and a model to talk around.

    I know from the origional publication that a certain amoiunt of validation did happen and that Peter Honey is still collecting stats for this.

    What learning styles model & instrument do you prefer?

  3. Go with the flow
    Hi Mike, orgs I’ve worked for tend to use LSQ so I’ve had to go for that. Only if they take it too seriously or misuse it, I’ll raise issues about its robustness as part of a message about missing the point. I guess it’s as good as any at an awareness-raising level but, like VAK in NLP, I hate to see it misused.
