Training Contracts

default-16x9

I am considering implementing 'Training Contracts' for employees to sign to say that, for example, if they do not complete a nationally recognised qualification paid for by the organisation or if they leave within 18 months after completion of that qualification, a cost to them will/could be incurred. Does anyone know of such contracts, do they work and if so could you give me examples please?
Thank you
Andrea Bagnall

  1. Example of Training Letter and Contract with Spreadsheet
As a Company, we have established a formal letter that the employee has to sign to agree acceptance of the Terms and the fact that we will take recovery action for the fees on a sliding scale over a 12 month period. Apart from one or two individuals initially who were reluctant, we’ve had no real problems. It is also covered within the Employee Handbook that every individual receives on joining the Company. I am more than happy to provide you with example letter, spreadsheet and Contract wording if you can e-mail me at [email protected]

My name is Cedric Whilby,a new member to the Trainingzone. I wish to implement a similair “Training Contract” arrangement
with employers and, like to have a look at examples contracts you may have.I am also interested in the type of penalties you may have introduced.I have tried to make contact with Peter Forrester at LSC but he no longer works their. If possible ,can Andrea Bagnall send me a template of the above or all other related information.

We did explore the idea of training contracts very carefully but took the decision finally to not follow this route.

Apologies for not being of much help Cedric however good luck with it anyway!
