Training & development model

default-16x9

Can anyone recommend a model which demonstrates how training & development fits into wider HR / Business context. Ideally how it links into succession planning, performance management etc?

  1. T&D Strategic models
    Hi
    There are lots of models which link T&D to organisational development or business improvement, but not from the T&D side. You will need to look at strategic business models.

    These include:
    * Business Excellence – BEM, EFQM
    * Investors in People
    * PRIMO-F
    * Balanced Business Score Card – BSC etc.
    See them http://www.rapidbi.com/created/managementmodels.html

    Or you can define a model to suit your organisation.

    Hope this helps

  2. L&D Pivotal Model
    Susan
    I have a model which shows the how L&D is pivotal to other functions/concepts including performance management, organisational development, leadership, knowledge management and also positions self-managed learning, elearning, work-based learning, training, education, etc. And connects all this to organisational performance, organisational capability, HR and innovation.
    If this might fit the bill let me have your email and I’ll send it to you.

  3. I have a model
    I have a model that we use to help clients understand how everything joins together – it seems to really work well…

    Not sure it would work if I pasted it into this site, so let me know if you would like me to e-mail you a copy (a.nash@tfa.co.uk)

  4. Training & Development Model
    Kirk Patrick’s model is one of the more used models.

    How it integrates with your internal development plans is entirely in the hands of the user.

    Need more inputs from you to proceed with more answers.
