I am searching for any games/activities/coaching tools which will help to develop retail (fashion) store management commercial awareness. The general idea is that these games/activities/coaching tools will be used as part of a store manager development toolkit. This is an urgent one!....any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have been running commercial awareness / financial awareness for about 7 years
the best way i have found of teaching it is to bring things to life using floor exercises and games where people can really see how company finance works.
it does involve using a lot of props but it makes it fun and interactive.

One approach is to use a computer simulation like Retail Challenge – http://www.simulations.co.uk/reteval.htm This introduces basic commercial concepts (finance (P & L, Balance Sheet & Cash Flow), marketing (mark-up & promotion) and operations (amount to purchase and staffing levels)) and how these link together.

Have a look at Northgate Training. Mike Lynch is the boss there. http://www.northgatetraining.co.uk. We’ve used a lot of their games. They are really well designed and easy to run. Hope that helps.
