Training Manager Post update

default-16x9

Hello again

Once again thankyou for replies to previous post about my application for this post.  I have now got an interview date and been told that on the day there will be a test, (doesn't say if its written/oral or mention subject matter), an unseen presentation (30 mins to prepare) and then an hour long interview.  So several hoops to be jumped through and still none the wiser as to what they will be focusing on.  Oh well, will give it my best shot and see what happens.

  1. Nice to get feedback

    Thanks for letting us know – too many posters ask questions here but do not provide feedback on the outcome.

    The test is likely to be written/mathematic, in-tray exercise or psychometric.  Ask them for details.

    Presentation is likely to be about:
    a) something you have done (e.g. demonstrate how you have used the training cycle to complete a project);
    b) something they want you to do (e.g. how would you approach a customer service training need).

    Interview – is it behavioural based?

    Check the person specification for the clues as to which competencies they are checking with each part of the selection process and whether any part of the process is weighted.  It’s very easy to spend too long preparing mentally for the presentation and not considering the interview enough.

    Good luck.

  2. I can’t add anything to Andres’s post so……

    ….I’ll just say Good Luck!
