Validation Methods

default-16x9

I am responsible for the design of training for the national company I work for, with regard to a new IT system.
Does anyone have any experience of "validation" of learning, in particular "on-line" quiz's that can give the delegate an instant response - for e.g. percentage of correct answers ?

  1. Assessment with result
Have a look at Lectora, it contains not only the tools for creating learning and simulation, but assessment with feedback, certificates and much more.

  2. I used excel!
I designed a couple of intranet based sessions which were due to be upgraded to elearning later in the year. I didn’t want to put the intranet team to a lot of work for a relatively short timescale. So I designed quizzes in excel, which were multiple choice, or in one case form filling. Once all the questions were attempted, there was a button for ‘Mark Now’, and hey presto! Needed to think hard on ‘nested if’ formulae to get it to work, but it did! (I accept it could be fiddled if you tried really hard – but that took more work than merely answering the question!)

If you’d like an example, I’ll be happy to send you one – let me know.
