Video Support for Appraisal Conversation Training

default-16x9

Good morning all,

I am currently designing a series of Appraisal Training sessions for the Line Managers who need to deliver appraisals in my company, and am looking for a short video (e.g. 5 minutes max) to introduce the session dedicated to the appraisal conversation.

Ideally, I'm looking for a roleplay video that allows attendees to look at both good and bad practice in the appraisal conversation, and that is, above all, realistic. This would be a cue for a discussion about what they observed, and what makes a powerful Appraisal Conversation.

Do let me know if you have anything that may be suitable.

Thank you very much in advance!

Kind regards,

Federica

  1. A couple of short films

    Hi Federica,

These may not be quite what you are looking for, but please do have a look at them.

The above films are from Scrubs where JD is preparing and having his appraisal from Dr Cox.

The next one is from the UK Office, where David Brent is preparing to do his appraisals.

Both of the films look more about the preperation about appriasals from the managers and staffs point of views.

  2. Thanks Stuart

I don't know if Federica will find them useful but the second clip from Scrubs is very thought provoking…….

    Hi Frederica,

You mentioned that you wanted the clips to be realistic, and that's why we ended up scripting and videoing them ourselves. No fancy equipment, just filmed using a Blackberry Playbook. It meant that we could tailor the scenarios to our client and highlight key points which were most relevant to the learning needs.

Sometimes showing a couple of outtakes goes down well with the audience too!
