What are the current “hot topics” in training?

default-16x9

I am putting together an event for training professionals and want to focus on the latest research, thinking and development in training. What are people focusing on at the moment, what are the "hot topics"? If you are a training professional and were invited to a Training Masterclass, what would you like to hear?

Who are the key presenters, speakers on latest developments?

  1. “Hot topics”
    Christine,

    I would include:
    – evaluation and return on investment in training
    – the failure of e-learning to take off in its own right and the subsequent rise of blended solutions
    – the lifelong learning concept: bottom-up learning vs. top-down training
    – the squeeze on the corporate training function in times of recession
    – coaching, mentoring, action learning sets as a complement to the training function.

Elliot Masie and Jack Philips rank amongst those talked about in training circles.

    Hope this helps,

    David

  3. Look around the site…
    Christine

Spend some time looking around the key areas of this site and you’ll get a good feel for the key topics. Any Answers, News and Topical Briefings will all bring up some common issues – and it’s worth looking at the recent Training Solutions debate synopsis too at https://www.trainingzone.co.uk/cgi-bin/item.cgi?id=85237 . Two other key sources of information are the recently published Biannual Review, written by TrainingZONE’s News Editor and the Training Trends 2002 Survey – both of which can be found on the Library page at https://www.trainingzone.co.uk/ppv/ .
