What is my qualification path

default-16x9

I am looking to build on my existing qualifications within training:
OCR Learning & Development Level 3&4
C&G Assessor Award
OCR Verifier Award
ILM Intro Certificate
ASSETT Supervisory Management
IOSH

I would be grateful if anyone could give me some advice as to what are my next options? Possibly CIPD or ILM

  1. What is your destination?
    Amanda

It’s difficult to say what you should do next, if we’re not sure where you’re going.

Are you collecting training qualifications, or is there some destination at the end of the path that you wish to take?

A better idea of what your present employment position is, and where you would like it to advance to (PDP) would, I’m sure, get a more positive response to your question.

  2. Qualifications or Experience
My first thoughts were in line with Howard’s comments, Qualifications over Experience. My only qualifications are an Advanced Methods of Instruction certificate from the Army and IITT Tap Accredited certificate, but I have 15 years of Technical Training Experience gained in the Army and 6 years Technical Training for Nortel Networks and Keymile. I believe organisations are looking for experience and a good track record or portfolio. I think that to be employed as a traininer will get you the experience and if you need a qualifification for your career development and progression then that is the one you need to obtain. Good Luck

  4. Def ILM

Hi, i went through this problem, and couldn’t decide.
Researched alot I have now been studying Intro ILM homestudy with ICS, it’s excellent covers everything you need to know as a trainer/mentor.

I have nearly finished a year’s study in 8 months.

  5. Def ILM ??
Assuming you’re talking about the ILM Introductory Award, I could find nothing in the content for this course, on their website, that related to training.

    Have I missed something?

  6. ILM
    Hi,

Howard, Yes I asked for the prospectus.
If you get the phoe number from Internet and call them and order the prospectus. The course will be detailed there.

Or just asked the assistant over the phone they are very helpful.

They are def running the course all year.

If you have trouble I will find out for you let me know.

  7. Depends
    Hi,

Amanda it depends where you’re goals are heading and also where you’re interest are?
ILM provies you with all topics such as:

Leadership,H&S,forecasting, planning,Learning & Development,Communication,Leader etc and more there are 12 topics of analysis and business learning and communication.

Above is all you will need to work in major companies and also as a IT training consultant.ILM is ideal. The others you have mentioned will only focus on two or three areas.

    Hope this helps!
