Police in Norfolk are set to benefit from a number of bespoke training courses being run at De Montfort University (DMU) aimed at improving frontline policing services.
The qualifications have been designed in response to the Constabulary's mission to increase efficiency, modernise the workforce and ensure more effective management of resources. The four-year contract will see more than 360 police officers across the ranks undertake leadership and management training.
The courses will combine qualifications with practical leadership skills, tailored to the latest thinking in neighbourhood policing and will be studied through a combination of face-to-face teaching at police headquarters, e-learning and project work. Additional management concepts to be covered on the courses include: ethics, anti-social behaviour, community engagement, risk offender management, inter-agency working, coaching skills and e-business.
Stephen Peak, head of corporate development at DMU said: "We are delighted to be working with Norfolk Constabulary to help increase efficiency by building knowledge, confidence and leadership skills at every level. DMU has a strong track record of providing high-quality and innovative professional development programmes tailored to employers' needs."
