The CompactLaw Document Centre is the first online service in the UK for generating personalised legal documents. Please note that all of our documents are drafted by fully qualified and practising barristers and solicitors.

About the service

The CompactLaw Document Service allows you to purchase personalised legal documents online using your credit card in a secure environment. To use the service you complete the selected document form, enter your credit card details and once the transaction has been completed online you are then given access to the completed form.

A range of HR documents are available through the service. They include:

  • Standard employment contracts for full and part-time staff
  • Employment contracts for flexible hours
  • Internet and e-mail usage guidelines
  • Maternity and parental leave policies
  • Sickness and absence policies
  • Employment Tribunal form (free to download)

Most documents cost between £30 and £50 per contract.

How To Purchase

  1. Complete the selected document form.
  2. Enter your credit card details on the secure payment form (not applicable to free forms)
  3. The transaction is confirmed complete with a reference number.
  4. Click on the link marked "Open Your Document Now", your personalised legal document will open in a new window.
  5. Save your personalised legal document with the file extension .htm or .html
  6. Users of Microsoft Word 97 or 2000 can also open their saved HTML document directly in Word for editing or saving as a template for future use.

CompactLaw also supplies a useful set of factsheets dealing with common HR issues, including unfair and wrongful dismissal, redundancy, discrimination, maternity rights and statutory sick pay. All are free to access.
