A Penny for your Thoughts…

default-16x9

I love training; I would even go so far as to say that my enthusiasm makes me something of a training geek.

What I love the most are those 'a-ha' moments when suddenly someone makes a connection & understands the world in a new way. A broad grin spreads across their face & you can see a mixture of relief & excitement in their eyes.

I love that those moments can happen for anyone in the room & I love the moment when, as the training professional at the front of the room,  something happens or is said that gives you your a-ha moment also.

Such a moment happened to me a few days ago, as I spoke about thinking preferences & the internal sound tracks of our mind that play on a loop as we go about our lives.

I thought about everyone who experiences training, whether as an end user, the person who pays the bills or the people who make training happen. We all have different values, beliefs, attitudes and needs; but is there a consistency in what we view as great training? Does our perspective change what we look for to spot success?

The thought stayed with me & so I decided to find out the views and opinions of as many people as possible & create a brief (anonymous) survey to ask what you think are the magic ingredients of great training & great training professionals.

As ever, people have been incredibly generious & open with their thoughts. If you are one of the 130+ people who have replied so far, then a huge thank you from me.

If you haven't seen the survey yet, please can I ask you to spare a couple of minutes to complete it.

I will of course let you all know what I find out; hopefully we can all benefit from sharing our views and perspectives to make our training even better than it already is.

Thank you.

  1. A huge thank you

I just want to say a huge thank you to any of you who have completed the survey. The answers so far are fascinating to say the least. I will leave the survey open for as many as possible of you to complete it.

Thanks again & all the very best
